Air Drill Equipment
Air drilling is a process to drill with the help of pressured air (1.2 – 6.0 MPa or above 10 MPa)
supplied by the field compressors(120 – 320 m3/min), which the compressed air injected
into the well through standpipe, taking the drilling breaks up to ground by air instead of mud,
and pump the drilling breaks to mud tank through pipe manifold after sprayed by water.
As for conventional drilling technology, the process is supported with water or mud creating pressure to
balance the stratum pressure, which is called balanced drilling. Air drilling uses air to circulate in the well,
which means no pressure gathered by the liquid, so the pressure within the stratum can be released directly.
Advantage of air drilling
- Greatly increase the velocity the mechanical drilling, shorten the production period.
- Diminishing the possibility of circulation loss because of the complicated stratigraphic structures.
- Environment friendly. Creating less contamination.
