Power Swivel 120 – 7000

General Description

Tianjin Hi-Tech (THT) Model PSW 120/7000 Power Swivel is hydraulic motor driven pipe-rotating machine. Compact and weighting only 2100 lbs, it is design to support tensile pipe loads of 120 tons at zero RPM, and 70 tons load at 100 RPM. It incorporates gooseneck and wash-pipe assembly allowing circulation through the quill both, in static conditions and while rotating.

The PSW 120/7000 is rated to 7000 ft-lb maximum torque and 200 RPM maximum (depend on the hydraulic pump capacity). Variable volume pump and close loop hydraulic system allow the torque and RPM to be infinitely varied within the above stated ranges, with no need to shift gears or stop and restart the unit to increase or decrease speed or torque.

The THT PSW120/7000 Power Swivel is supplied with a power unit of the correct size and horsepower output to match the swivel, and remote control console.

All these components are skid mounted for easy transport.

Uses

1. Fishing and workover operations:
   The THT Power Swivel 120/7000 is ideal for supplying rotary power:
   - For internal and external cutting of casing, drill pipe and tubing.
   - For drilling out packers, plugs and cements.
   - For milling and casing scraping.
   The smooth and accurate torque control minimizes the danger of twisting off the work string or damaging cutting tool or mill.
2. Drilling Operations:
   The PSW 120/7000 is lightweight and maneuverable, and effective for light to medium drilling jobs. The drilling application includes:
   - oil and gas wells,
   - water wells,
   - piling drilling for offshore platforms,
   - piers and foundation drillings for construction.
   In many instances the swivel is suspended from a boom or crane to accomplish operations such a pile drilling.
3. Coring Operations:
   The use of PSW 120/7000 for any type of coring operations allows any length of desired core to be taken while insuring less chance of damage to core tools or strings with its accurate and smooth torque control.
